Brief Life History of The Martyred Patriot Ali Seid Abdalla


Ali Seid Abdalla was born in 1949 in a place called Berdolla in the Southern Red Sea region. He was born to Asseid Abdalla Seid Ali and Ms. Medina Nakhuda Ahmed. Ali completed his elementary and junior levels at Hirgigo School and senior secondary at Lu'ul Mokonnen secondary in the port city of Massawa.

Driven by a great sense of patriotism during his school days in Massawa, Ali joined the students' union, which he later led as its branch head between 1963 and 1967. During the course of his involvement in national operations, Ali had been subjected to imprisonment in 1965 by the Ethiopian colonial regime. The martyred patriot joined the Eritrean Liberation Front on February 2, 1967 and became a partaker in the liberation struggle. In the ranks of the ELF fighting army, he had served as a private until 1968, after which he bravely led as a company commissioner of one of the army companies, between 1968 and 1969.

- Under the "Al-Iqhab" [the punishment] program outlined by the ELF leadership in 1969, Ali Seid Abdalla had pioneered a mission in Karachi, Pakistan that witnessed the destruction of one of the Hailesellasie regime's planes in Karachi airport. The group that carried out the mission back then was incarcerated and subjected to hard conditions by the then Pakistani authorities.

- Ali Seid was also one of the founders of the popular forces that came into being in 1970.

The martyred patriot, Ali Seid Abdalla had also served as:

- Political commissioner Company leader and force commander between April 1970 and January 1971;

- Member of the popular forces' leadership from 1971 to January 1977;

- Member of the EPLF Central Committee, the political office, commander of various fronts and head of the revolutionary guard between January 1977 and March 1987;

- Member of the EPLF Central Committee, member of the political office and head of the department of foreign affairs from March 1987 until liberation;

- Head of military operations in the Transitional Government of Eritrea's defense department between June 1991 and February 1993;

- Member of the Central Assembly, the PFDJ Executive Board and National Assembly of Eritrea as of 1994;

- Minister of Internal Affairs between March 1993 and December 1996;

- Minister of Trade and Industry between January 1997 and November 2000;

- Minister of Foreign Affairs from December 2000 until the day of his martyrdom.

Ali Seid had been a great fighter known for his leadership qualities in numerous battles in the ranks of the ELF popular forces against the enemy.

The martyred patriot, Ali Seid Abdalla will be long remembered by colleagues and superiors alike for his compassion and selfless dedication. He is a great man that is known to all for being down to earth. Most of all, he is one of the great leaders ever produced by the Eritrean revolution and a man of his principles. The nation and people derive a great sense of pride from his passion towards whatever was in the best interests of the people and the nation.

The late martyred patriot, Ali Seid Abdalla, is survived by his wife and four children. Ali Seid Abdalla died of a heart attack in the early morning hours of August 28, 2005.

Funeral services for the late veteran patriot has been held on this day, the 30th of August 2005 here at the Patriots' Cemetery in the presence of President Isaias Afwerki, ministers, heads of PFDJ, religious leaders, army commanders, diplomats and the general public.

On this sad occasion, the Government of Eritrea labels the martyrdom of Ali Seid Abdalla as a huge loss to the nation as it expresses its deepest sorrow and conveys its message of condolence to the people of Eritrea and the family members of the bereaved.

Yea yea, t'as bien lu, Martin Luther , aussi connu comme le guitariste de the Roots a Nijmegen en concert, GRATUITTTTTTTTTT...
trop trop trop cool.
Je suis arrivee en retard (quelle looser cette Imnet), je me suis perdue en chemin...eh ouais..
donc y'avait a tout peter 100 personnes devant la scene, de plus ils le connassaient pas je crois, ils se poussaient pas pr se mettre devant y'avait environ 5 metres entre les gens et la scene...sans secu...
Bref, j arrive, j entends LA Guitare de Martin Luther ...trop fort ce mec, le pire c'est qu il chante tellement mieux en LIVE, une voix rauque et sexy..(sorry Mat)
Bref, il etait habille assez bizarrement, avec un chapeau rouge, vert et jaune et des converses ROUGES (les grands esprits se rencontrent)..
Donc j etais trankil en train d apprecier le concert, et tout d'un coup Martin me fait un grand sourire et un clin d'oeil, j y croyais pas..je me disais que ct pr quelqu'un d autre...
donc le concert se finit sur une chanson improvisee...(d ailleurs un bassiste et un batteur hors pair)
Je reste un peu sur ma faim, vu que je suis arrivee en retard, et la je vois mon Colloc, et je lui dit que Martin va signer des CDs et prendre des photos avec les spectateurs...je lui dit que je suis trop timide pr y aller...Il m emmene de force!! "its a one lifetime chance"
selon ces dires...bref on s approche et, Martin etait en train de signer les CDs , et tout d'un coup il fait a une fille " you were feeling it girl, i saw u nodding ur head" et il se tourne vers moi avec un grand sourire..."Oh and I saw you too girl, kindda shaking it with an attitude" lol
J etais trop mal..donc on a pris des photos avec mon colloc...qui a oublie de les enregistrer sur son mobile...donc photos perdues..j etais trop decue...alors g achete le CD et g demande un autographe, il me l a dedicace a mon nom.., et il m a dit d'aller a Amsterdam pr son autre concert, il a dit qu'il jouerait plus de "slow jams"...
Et j ai eu droit a un "hug".

J ai trop d images dans la tete, ce mec est trop cool.
